Marshfield High School Establishes One of the Few U.S. Coast Guard JROTC Programs in the Nation

Greetings Coos Bay Families,

We are proud to share that Marshfield High School officially established its U.S. Coast Guard JROTC Program during a special ceremony on September 15th!

This is an extraordinary honor for our school and community: Marshfield is one of only 15 Coast Guard JROTC units in the entire nation and just the third established on the West Coast. 

Local city, community, and regional leaders gathered with us, alongside Coast Guard Servicemen and Servicewomen in the Marshfield Auditorium to mark this historic milestone.

This program plays a vital role in fulfilling our district mission: ensuring every student graduates with a clear, actionable plan to be Enrolled, Employed, or Enlisted. 

Through leadership development, civic engagement, teamwork, and personal accountability, our Cadets are gaining invaluable skills that translate directly into college, vocational careers, or military service.
