Dear Eastside Families,
Thank you for your continued support in helping our students succeed! One of the most critical factors in student achievement is regular attendance. When students are in school every day, they build strong learning habits, stay connected with their teachers and peers, and make steady progress toward their goals.
What is a “Regular Attender”?
A regular attender is a student who attends 90% or more of school days. This means missing no more than about 1 day every two weeks. Consistent attendance helps students feel confident and prepared for learning.
Our Attendance Goal:
Eastside is working toward having 75% or more of our students be regular attenders. For November, here’s where we stand:
-
Kindergarten: 73%
-
1st Grade: 71%
-
2nd Grade: 78%
We’re close to our goal, and with your help, we can get there!
Why This Matters:
- Students who attend regularly are more likely to meet grade-level expectations.
- Good attendance builds habits that last a lifetime.
- Every day counts—missing even a few days can add up quickly.
Our Monthly Sprint Goals:
All K–12 schools in Coos Bay are working on focused goals each month. At Eastside, our goals are:
- Improve attendance and maintain 75% or higher regular attendance.
- Ensure every child earns 60 minutes on SuccessMaker with at least 50 correct problems.
What is SuccessMaker?
SuccessMaker is our adaptive math program that adjusts to each student’s learning level. It provides personalized practice to strengthen math skills and build confidence.
Thank you for partnering with us to make sure your child is at school every day and engaged in learning. Together, we can reach our goals and help every student thrive!
If you have any questions or need support with attendance, please reach out.
