November Newsletter

Hello Eastside Families!

Dear Eastside Families,
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences on November 12 and 13, which will be early release days, so please plan accordingly. These meetings are a wonderful opportunity to connect and discuss your child’s progress so far this school year.
During the conferences, we will share the results of our beginning-of-the-year assessments and highlight the growth your child has already made. We are proud of the hard work our students have shown and look forward to celebrating their achievements with you.
Our goal this year is for 80% or more of our students to be reading at grade level by the end of the year. To reach this critical milestone, students must be at school and on time every day. As I often say, teachers cannot teach an empty chair—consistent attendance is key to your child’s success.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to seeing you at conferences and working together to help every student thrive.
Go Panthers!
With gratitude,
Mrs. Amelia Edd
Principal, Eastside School

Physical Education with Coach Dan

This November in PE, students are developing their motor skills and coordination by exploring movement with familiar objects such as balls, bean bags, ropes, and hoops. Kindergarteners are learning to move between two points to build spatial awareness and control. During Friday recess, students will enjoy fun games like ring toss, hopscotch, and parachute play to encourage teamwork and active play. We’re so excited to see our Panthers grow stronger, more confident, and have a blast while moving their bodies!

School Reading Data for Beginning of the Year

We use DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) as a quick and effective way to check how your child is developing important reading skills. These screenings help us understand where each student is doing well and where they might need a little extra help. By doing this regularly, we can make sure every child gets the support they need to become confident, successful readers. It’s one of the ways we work together to help all students grow and thrive in their learning. Your child's teacher will be sharing their individual results at conferences. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with your child's teacher or Mrs. Nicole Ault, our Intervention Specialist, through ParentSquare.
