Good Evening Coos Bay Families.
Due to an increase in community exposure from the Boys and Girls Club, we will be pausing school for our K-6 students tomorrow, Thursday, October 7 through Monday, October 11.
Coos Health and Wellness and the Oregon Health Authority are working to isolate and trace the cases that impact our schools. It is our goal to return to school on Tuesday, October 12th. We will update everyone Monday afternoon on future plans.
We are asking that families with children who attend Boys and Girls Club get COVID tested in the next couple of days. A free drive-up testing center has been set up at the Wal-Mart parking lot from 8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday and 10:00am-3:00pm Saturday and Sunday. Bay Area Hospital has a free drive-up testing center 8:00am-11:30am Monday through Friday.
Staff will be on-site to prepare for students returning as well as to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Grades 7-12 will remain in school during this time.
